The Revd Dr A. K. M. Adam studied philosophy as an undergraduate at Bowdoin College in Maine, USA, then trained for ordination at Yale Divinity School, where he also began postgraduate study, completing his studies at Duke University. He has served parishes in the US and UK, most recently assisting at the Cathedral of St Mary the Virgin in Glasgow. He has lectured at Eckerd College, Princeton Theological Seminary, Seabury-Western Theological Seminary, Duke University, and the University of Glasgow. His academic interests focus on Matthew’s Gospel and the Epistle of James, and on biblical interpretation as a practice integrated with liturgy, ethics, and doctrine. He has written and edited several books, most recently James: A Handbook on the Greek Text. He was a member of the Doctrine Committee of the Scottish Episcopal Church, and participated in the Bible in the Life of the Church project for the Anglican Communion. He is married to Margaret, a lecturer in Christian Doctrine and Ethics, and they have three children, all based in the USA.
