Accommodation

Your personal living space is set in a haven of tranquility, with picturesque grounds and buildings of great distinction and atmosphere. We have our own beautiful House chapel and the Grade One listed Bodley church, linked by the quiet serenity of the cloister gardens.

There are also large communal gardens with a brick-built barbecue, picnic benches and a lawn used as a play area for children.

We have worked hard in the last few years to ensure that we offer accommodation that is not only comfortable, but stylish too. Of our student rooms in college, eighteen are en-suite and some are doubles for married students with visiting spouses. There is a balloting system which comes into effect after the first year and some rooms are available on a year-round basis. Our accommodation includes flats and houses, twenty in total: seven 1-bedroom, seven 2-bedroom, five 3-bedroom, and one 4/5 bedroom.

Most staff and students live on site in accommodation that ranges from single study bedrooms to family houses. Married students with families and those living out may arrange to have the use of a shared study in college. All studies and study-bedrooms have internet connection to the university network. Tenancies normally run for the academic year. Monthly rental prices include water and central heating but not include electricity which is charged separately.

Weekly average room rate 2018/19:

  • Standard room (shared bathroom): £135 per week
  • Large Standard room (shared bathroom): £141 per week
  • En-suite room: £153 per week

Monthly rents for flats and houses 2018/19

  • 1-bedroom flat: £850 - £899pcm
  • 2-bedroom flat: £978 - £1,013 pcm
  • 3-bedroom flat/house: £1,143 - £1,250 pcm
  • 4/5-bedroom flat: £1,950 pcm

There is an additional charge of £125 per year for parking, if required.

Please note that it is compulsory for all students living in college rooms to be accommodated on a half-board basis. The cost in addition to rent for half-board is £53.50 per week.  This cost entitles you to discounted rates on all other meals taken.  It also includes all the celebratory meals, including the three big banquets per year.

For students living in flats and houses, there is a choice of half-board catering or signing in for occasion meals. If choosing the latter, there is an annual £155 charge to cover the major celebratory meals plus the entitlement to discounted student meals.

Families may join students in the dining hall for meals and are charged at the same rate.
