Open Days

The Open Day is an occasion for potential applicants to meet the staff and the students at the House. The next Open Day, held on the 27th October 2012, will be tailored for candidates for Ordination.

Visitors and potential students will be able to experience the life of the House through its worship and communal life as well as to get some insights about ministerial formation in the Catholic tradition of the Church of England.

  • The day will start with Coffee and Tea served in the Common Room at 10.00 a.m. followed by a tour of the college.
  • At 12 noon there will be a sung Eucharist in the church of St John the Evangelist, the spiritual and liturgical heart of the college.
  • A hearty buffet lunch will conclude the first half of the day.
  • At 2.00 p.m. a panel of vocation advisers will answer questions about training for those exploring ordained ministry; then at 3.00 p.m. another panel of tutors and teaching staff will illustrate the various qualification offered by St Stephen's House through the University of Oxford.
  • Cream tea will be served at 4.00 p.m. and it will be followed by Evensong and Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament.
  • The day should end around 5.00 p.m.

Students and staff will be at hand throughout the day to answer your questions about residential training and your personal journey towards ordination.

We look forward to welcoming you on the 27th of October!
